I am dedicated to promoting justice and accessibility, therefore I offer a sliding scale rate. In addition, I offer limited spots at a significantly reduced rate. Priority is given to individuals encountering structural barriers to accessing services, such as solo parents, disabled individuals, and those with low income. If you are facing financial constraints, please don't hesitate to mention this. For a comprehensive understanding of my justice-oriented sliding scale approach, you may find this page insightful.

Counselling
My counselling approach is holistic, person-centred, and collaborative - which means as much as 'together we explore what works best for you'. With compassion, curiosity and sometimes a little bit of humour, I help you examine the parts of you and your life that feel challenging to help you move toward where you wish to be in your life.
My practice is deeply grounded in the belief that everything is interconnected. I believe it is important to look beyond what goes on inside of you and consider the impact of your connections and the world around you. I am greatly inspired by queer theory and use a social and ecological justice lens in my work.
My therapeutic way of working is holistic, bringing awareness to both the body, the mind, and the heart. I draw from approaches that help folks explore the stories and beliefs they have about themselves (narrative therapy), tend to the parts of themselves that need care and attention (IFS), and that balance acceptance of difficult thoughts and feelings with commitment to values and change (ACT and DBT).
Maybe most importantly, I ground my work in the belief that we are all capable of healing, growing, and changing as long as we feel seen, heard, and understood.

Ecotherapy
Ecotherapy therapy is also known as Nature-based therapy. It is a therapeutic approach that involves connecting with nature as a way to promote mental and emotional well-being. Ecotherapy recognizes the interconnectedness between human well-being and the health of our planet. Put simply: when we connect with nature, it takes care of us, and in return, we are more likely to take steps to reciprocate this and protect our environment.
Nature-based is considered a holistic and experiential approach to therapy that takes various forms. Just like 'regular' counselling, we explore the challenges you are navigating and the hopes and strengths you have. Bringing therapy outside via walks and sit-spots invites you to be present and grounded, use your senses, be curious and playful, and interact with the living systems around you.
Though nature-based therapy is most effective when we are outside, connecting with nature, it can be effectively incorporated into virtual sessions. Ultimately, it is about remembering and honouring our connection with the Earth and seeking ways to promote your healing.
Consulting & Education
As a lifelong learner with over a decade of experience in education in a variety of roles and my ongoing work as a therapist, kayak and polar guide, I offer program development, presentations, workshops, training, and guided outdoor trips for schools, companies, and organizations centered around nature-immersion and mental health. My services are designed to provide individuals and teams with the knowledge and skills they need to promote well-being in their personal and professional life.
My approach to presenting and teaching is highly adaptive and inclusive, recognizing and honoring the variety of learning styles and neurodiversity. I emphasize engaging, hands-on, and experiential presenting and teaching methods to ensure that all participants are actively involved and can apply what they learn in real-world contexts. I work from a decolonizing approach in my teachings and therapeutic work, humbly recognizing and integrating Indigenous ways of knowing alongside Western knowledge systems.
Whether you are looking for a 90-minute workshop or a multi-day guided wilderness adventure - or anything in between - I can design and deliver a meaningful and impactful experience.
